About Us

Groupe Sotramon has been providing a wide range of engineering services (structural steel works,
lagging and cladding works, boiler erection, fabrication and erection of piping, tanks erection, crane services, repairs and maintenance works) from small to large scale projects, to both private and public sector since its inception in 1983.

No project is too big or too small for our team to perform. We go the extra mile to provide solutions. Focus is on quality service, schedule management, keeping dates firm and forecasts as accurate as we respect deadline of our Clients.

Board Members

William Ah-Sue
William Ah-SueChairman
Born in 1947, William Ah Sue graduated as an Agronomist at the School of Agriculture, University of Mauritius. He started his career at the Mount Sugar Estate as Chemist and Chef de Quart. He then worked in Africa in the sugar industry for four years before joining the contracting industry with IBL. In 1980, he started his own business in the contracting field by upgrading the first sugar mill in St Benoit, Reunion Island (capacity from 150 MT to 250 MT).

In 1983, Sotramon Limitée was set up; a company engaged in mechanical and structural engineering. He became Chairman of Groupe Sotramon on 7th October 2009.

He currently sits on several boards which include Sotravic Limitée, Sotramon Limitée, Sotracom Limitée, Maxworks Ltd and Consolidated Energy Co Ltd. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Port Louis.

Barbara Ah-Sue
Barbara Ah-SueChief Executive Officer
Born in 1974, Barbara Ah Sue holds a BSc in Business Studies and French from the University of Surrey, UK and Institut d’Etudes Politique de Toulouse, France and a MSc in Human Resource Management (UK). She started her career in the hospitality sector in Seychelles as a Personnel Administrator and Trainer. She then worked in the capacity of HR in Australia for an International Direct Sales Company and in 2006 she was promoted as a HR & Recruitment Manager for the six offices around Australia.

In 2009, She joined Sotracom Limitée as Commercial Director and became Managing Director in the same year. She was appointed CEO of Groupe Sotramon in January 2015. She currently sits on the Board of Sotramon Limitee, Maxworks Limitee and Sotracom Limitee. She is also a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD) and Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC).

Necessary resources are given to set up safety committees composed of management and elected employees.

Training is provided to ensure tasks are performed properly, thereby limiting the risks of injury in the workplace. No task is so important that an employee must violate a safety rule or take the risk of injury or illness in order to get the job done.
